I was exicted to try this place out. It had all the signs of a “hole-in-the-wall with great food”…(Small place, kind of run down, “cash preferred” sign at the register & the place was busy)…I had high hopes of discovering a delicious banh mi…Sadly, that was not the case
-#13 Grilled pork w/lemongrass banh mi. Looked great with fresh made baguette. Bread was average & overall oddly flavlorless sandwich…even the pickled vegies = 5.4/10
-Steamed meatball bun (pass) = 4.8/10
-Iced Viet Coffee (average at best)= 6.1/10
I haven’t given up on this place yet, and will come back to try some of the baked goods…they have a ton of options! 🤞those are better than the above items…
Incredible selection. Friendly service. They have the closest thing I have found in PDX to a Texas Kolche with the sweet soft bread wrapped around a hot dog. Pork bao was delicious.
The prices here are unbeatable. The banh mi was pretty good, not great, but the bakery is BANGIN!! One of the best I've gone to in PDX. Amazingly delicious, high quality, and most things are $5 or under. I will be coming back here for baked goods for a long time!
This place is adorable and affordable! They are a small bakery shop that serves all sorts of Asian pastries, they also have boba tea and Vietnamese sandwiches. I highly recommend visiting and buying some treats from them. For payment cash is preferred but they accept credit card payments. The reason they keep their prices low is avoiding the extra bank fees so paying cash or tipping helps!
the food is good but the food safety practices are atrocious. i bought a pastry and when i got home, i noticed there were two date stickers on it. the top one said 1/24, and the bottom said 1/20. it was within date, but the fact they tried to get more life out of pastries that are soon to be discarded is so nasty. additionally, there's been times that i've visited where there's perishable food sitting out at room temperature on the counters. it wasn't sitting like it was waiting to be put away, they were arranged in a display. i checked the multnomah county website and there's not a safety inspection report (how?), and there's no way to report them. 48 million people a year get sick from foodborne illnesses, 128,000 get hospitalized, and 3000 people die, according to the CDC. that's in the united states alone. the bakery is ugly and the staff are rude as hell on top of that.
Absolutely LOVE this place. It's a true gem with the best banh mi's in the city. Seriously. I hesitate to share this but want to see this place open for many years to come! Friendly staff, excellent prices, and a huge variety of baked goods. Love the hazelnut tart and chocolate muffin (it has gooey chocolate inside!). The iced coffee is soooo good too. I have a hard time not sucking it down in 5 sips. You won't be disappointed.
This is a little known hidden gem. If you've never been before stop by say hi and try one of their delicious and reasonably priced handmade delectable Delicacies and desserts.
Visually they are absolutely stunning and I'm kicking myself that I didn't get a photo but they were too delicious and we ate it all before we realized we didn't snap a pic.
Stop by say hi get yourself a treat. You'll be happy that you did!!
Great Asian baked goods! I love their fresh cream buns. Tastes like my childhood. A disappointed by the Vietnamese coffee drink. There were too much ice in it, so not worth the price.
